Box Score

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team earned its first home conference win of the season against Whitman, 1-0, on Peyton Field Saturday afternoon.

Vincent Von Luehrte notched the game-winner off a penalty kick in the eight minute. Von Luehrte's powerful shot was placed perfectly in the upper left corner of the net.

The Loggers continued to push pass the Blues defense, recording eight shots in the first half, to Whitman's two shots.

The Blues didn't back down in the second half, recording six shots, and six corner kicks, but fell short in finding the equalizer.

Goalkeeper Robert Jorgensen only needed one save to secure Puget Sounds victory, and his second win in goal of the season.

The Loggers remain at home to take on Whitworth on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 12 p.m.
