Murdock-Spence combination leads to 2-1 win at Willamette

SALEM, Oregon – Luke Murdock scored a pair of goals to lift the Puget Sound men's soccer team to a 2-1 road win at Willamette Saturday afternoon.

Murdock now has nine goals this season, which is tied for the Northwest Conference lead. He is second in the NWC for points with 21.

Cale Spence assisted on both of Murdock's goals. The first score came in the 27th minute when Spence gathered a rebound and found Murdock, who then put the Loggers (7-5-4, 5-3-4 NWC) ahead, 1-0.

The second goal came in the 47th minute when Murdock buried a shot in the lower-right corner.

Willamette (11-3-3, 8-2-2 NWC) scored its only goal in the 84th minute. The Logger defense allowed just three shots on goal, while the offense totaled four shots on target.

Puget Sound remains on the road for a 12 p.m. game at Linfield, Sunday, Oct. 28.
