Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Allemann's 11 kills not enough at Whitworth

TACOMA, Washington – Avery Allemann led the Puget Sound volleyball team's offense with 11 kills, but the Loggers lost at Whitworth, 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15), Friday night.

Allemann finished with double-digit kills for the third time this season. She came away with 12 against St. Thomas (Tex.) (Sept. 3), and 13 against Linfield (Sept. 18). So far this season Alleman's .221 attack percentage trails only Katherine Carley (min. 8 matches).

The Loggers (8-5, 2-3 NWC) won a thrilling first set against the Pirates. Puget Soumd began the evening with a 4-0 run that was capped off by a kill from Jordan Holman. The lead grew to as much as 17-11 following a kill by Logan Winn, but that's when Whitworth put together a 7-2 run to cut Puget Sound's advantage to 19-18.

The Pirates claimed a 24-23 lead, but Carley kept the Loggers alive with a kill. She then followed with another kill, and Alleman's first of the match sealed the first set.

Puget Sound aims to bounce back at Whitman Saturday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m.
