Chekian leads Loggers in kills and digs to beat Lewis & Clark

PORTLAND, Oregon – It looked as though the win streak might be short-lived, but the Puget Sound volleyball team quickly adjusted to beat Lewis & Clark, 3-1 (18-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-12), Friday night.

The Loggers (12-6, 6-3 NWC) dropped the first set, but Puget Sound cruised through the next three sets to extend its winning streak to four games. Katelyn Chekian finished with a team-high 13 kills, and she totaled a career-high 23 digs.

Avery Allemann collected 10 kills in the winning effort, while Aliah Ayau and Sarah Blumenfeld both came away with 19 assists.

Puget Sound attacked at a season-high .270 clip against Lewis & Clark (6-8, 4-4 NWC), pushing the Loggers' record to 10-1 when they hit .200 or better.

The Loggers remain on the road to take on Linfield Saturday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m.
