TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team defeated Linfield, 2-0, on East Field Saturday afternoon.
In the 18
th minute, the Loggers benefited from a  continuation despite a hand-ball by the Wildcats. The continuation allowed
Marko Babiak to record his fifth goal of the season, putting the Loggers on the scoreboard first with a low driven left-footed strike.
Cale Spence broke free from the defense in the 64
th minute, delivering a pass to
Ryan Smith who put a series of moves on the Wildcat defense before finishing with his left foot.
Puget Sound rode that momentum the rest of the way as it held Linfield (1-10-1, 0-7-1 NWC) to only seven shots for the game.
Ryan Saunders got the nod in goal, coming up with six saves to preserve the shutout.
On the other end of the pitch, the Loggers had 16 shots to go along with 13 corners.
Puget Sound (5-5-2, 4-2-1 NWC) will take on second-place Willamette (7-3, 5-2 NWC), tomorrow, Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m. on East Field.
