TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team defeated George Fox, 2-0, on East Field Saturday afternoon.
The Loggers (6-7-3, 5-4-3 NWC) were led by
Cale Spence and
Ryan Smith, who each recorded a goal and an assist on the afternoon.
In the 30
th minute, Smith delivered a pass to Spence who ripped a low-driven shot for the goal, giving the Loggers the 1-0 lead. Puget Sound rode that momentum into halftime.
In the 51
st minute, Spence returned the favor to Smith - who tucked in the goal, giving Puget Sound a 2-0 edge.
Spence (6) and Smith (6) are now tied with
Marko Babiak for the team lead in scoring.
Ryan Saunders got the nod in goal and came up with three saves to keep the Boxers (5-11-0, 3-9-0 NWC) off the scoreboard.
The Loggers recorded 14 shots to go along with seven corner kicks.
Puget Sound will be back on East Field, Sunday, Oct. 31, when it takes on Pacific (6-8-2, 3-6-2) at 2:30 pm.
