Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Seniors Carden and Roath connect for Senior Day winner

TACOMA, Washington – Leave it to a couple of seniors to push the Loggers to victory on Senior Day. The No. 20/22 Puget Sound women's soccer team beat Linfield, 1-0, on East Field Sunday afternoon. It was the last home game of the regular season for the Loggers.

Before kickoff, Puget Sound celebrated its nine seniors: Tess Carden, Jasmine Chapman, Kalina Cordero, Genny Jilka, Meghan Jones, Kaitlyn McIsaac, Kylee Roath, Layla Santos, and Kiana Serrao.

The Loggers (16-0-2, 12-0-2 NWC) earned a corner kick in the 12th minute. Carden took the set piece, and she landed the offering perfectly into the box. Kylee Roath took advantage of the brilliant ball and headed in her team-leading eighth goal of the season.

Chaylea Tome needed to make just one save for her 14th shutout of the season, which leads all NCAA D-III goalies.

The Loggers attempted 17 shots in all, putting seven on frame.

The Loggers next take on Pacific Lutheran Wednesday, Nov. 3, in Parkland. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
