Loggers sweep Willamette for third consecutive win

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound volleyball team notched its third consecutive victory with a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-22, 25-17) against Willamette in Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday night.

The Loggers (11-5, 5-3 NWC) limited the Bearcats (6-7, 3-5 NWC) to just a .066 attack percentage for the night. Samantha Johnson had 10 digs to lead Puget Sound's defensive effort.

Offensively, the Loggers hit .226, led by nine kills from Jordan Holman, and seven each from Sadie Alloway and Avery Allemann. Alloway has 23 kills during the Loggers' three-game winning streak, posting a .422 attack percentage during that stretch.

The Loggers rarely trailed in either set, but the Bearcats kept the fight alive when the score was 11-11 in the third set. A kill by Allemann, however, sparked a 9-0 run for the Loggers.

Puget Sound is on the road next week, beginning with Lewis & Clark Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.
