PORTLAND, Oregon – Sophie Nilsson scored 21 points, while
Addison Reardon and
Samantha Swartout both scored 13 to lead the Puget Sound women's basketball team to an 83-60 win over Cal Lutheran in the final day of the Lewis & Clark Tournament Sunday afternoon. It was the Loggers' seventh consecutive win.
Nilsson shot 6-for-13 from the floor, including 3-for-6 from 3-point range, for her third 20-point game of the season. Reardon, a freshman, matched her season-best in scoring by shooting 4-for-6 from the field, and 2-for-4 from distance.
Swartout scored in double figures for the fourth time in five games.
Katie Minnehan continued to show that she is one of the most dynamic players on the West Coast. In addition to her eight points against the Regals (2-1), she added a team-high nine rebounds and six assists, to go along with three steals.
Puget Sound shot a season-best 81-percent (21-for-26) from the free-throw line Sunday.
The Loggers return home Friday, Dec. 3 for the start of the Northwest Conference season against Linfield. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
