TACOMA, Washington – Facing a two-set deficit, the Puget Sound volleyball team won the third iset n convincing fashion, but the Loggers ultimately lost to Whitworth, 3-1, in Memorial Fieldhouse Friday night.
Before the start of the match, Puget Sound (0-3, 0-3 NWC) celebrated its two seniors: Alli Reviglio and Melanie Siacotos.
Reviglio totaled 11 kills and 9 digs against the Pirates (1-0, 1-0 NWC). Siacotos added eight kills and a solo block.
The Loggers and Pirates went point-for-point, up to 10-10, in the third set. That's when a kill by Jordan Holman sparked an 8-2 run for the Loggers. Tannis Norton put away a kill and a service ace during the run.
Puget Sound attacked at a season-best .202 clip, but Whitworth hit .246 Friday night.
These two teams go head-to-head against in Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday, Feb. 13, at either 3 p.m. or 5 p.m.
