Box Score TACOMA, Washington – Cale Spence scored twice as the Puget Sound men's soccer team's comeback resulted in a comeback win, 2-1, against Whitman in Baker Stadium Saturday afternoon.
It was the first game for the Loggers since the fall of 2019.
Whitman took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute, but the Loggers answered back right before halftime. Spence snuck in the far post behind Blues defenders to bury a bounding ball into the back of the net and tie the game in the 42nd minute.
The game remained tied midway through the second half when Spence lined up to take a free kick 20 yards from Whitman's goal. Spence drilled the opportunity into the upper left corner, and the shot stood as the game-winner.
Puget Sound and Whitman play each other again Sunday, Feb. 21, at 1:30 p.m. in Baker Stadium.
