Loggers and Lutes to go head-to-head twice in Baker Stadium

FANS AND FAMILY ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ATTEND ATHLETIC EVENTS

 

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team is back in Baker Stadium this weekend when the Loggers host Pacific Lutheran for two games, Feb. 27-28. Kickoff for both games is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The Loggers began the 2020-21 season by splitting a couple of home games against Whitman (Feb. 20-21). Puget Sound was trailing early, 1-0, in the first game, but Cale Spence scored twice to give the Loggers a 2-1 season-opening win. He was subsequently named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week (offense).

The following day, Neither team scored through 100 minutes. However, the Blues netted the game-winning goal midway through the second overtime.

The Lutes are also 1-1-0 this season after opening their season at Whitworth last week (Feb. 20-21). Both games were decided by 1-0 scores. Dane Helle netted PLU's lone goal.

Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran have been evenly matched in recent years. Dating back to the 2014 season. Through the last six seasons, The Loggers have a 6-5-1 record against the Lutes.
