Loggers and Blues ready for two games in Walla Walla

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team heads to Walla Walla this weekend for two games at Whitman, March 13-14.

This weekend marks the Loggers' second series against the Blues this season. Puget Sound hosted Whitman, Feb. 20-21. The Loggers won the first game, 2-1, but the Blues won the second game in overtime, 1-0.

The first game against Whitman was the season-opener for Puget Sound. Cale Spence scored twice – and the game-winner came in the 68th minute. He was subsequently named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for offense.

Spences' four goals leads the NWC so far this season. Marko Babiak is tied for third in the conference with two goals – both of which came against Pacific Lutheran.

Among all conference teams that have played at least five games, Puget Sound's average of 1.50 goals scored per game leads the pack. On the other side of the pitch, no conference teams has recorded more saves than the Loggers' 25. 

Edwim Romero leads the Blues in scoring with two goals through six games this season. Whitman's GAA stands at 0.98.
