Box Score SPOKANE, Washington – Sean Hamel and Cale Spence both scored for the Loggers, but the Puget Sound men's soccer team came up short at Whitworth, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
The Pirates struck first in the 39th minute, but the Loggers wasted little time in answer back. A pass from Ryan Smith found Spence, who buried his third goal of the season.
The game remained tied at halftime, but Puget Sound took a 2-1 lead when Hamel delivered his first goal of the season off an assist from Marko Babiak in the 58th minute. However, Whitworth scored two unanswered goals to win it in regulation.
The Loggers aim to bounce back against the Pirates Sunday, March 8, at 1:30 p.m.
