Robertson makes eight saves, Spence scores in 1-1 tie at Whitworth

SPOKANE, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer reached a 1-1 draw through 110 minutes at Whitworth Sunday afternoon. It's the Loggers' first tie of the season.

Blake Robertson made a career-high eight saves for the Loggers.

The Loggers struck first when Cale Spence buried his fourth goal of the season in the 14th minute. Sean Hamel assisted on the score.

Puget Sound held the 1-0 lead for 65 minutes, but the Pirates netted the equalizer late in the second half.

The Loggers managed just one shot during the two overtime periods, compared to Whitworth's four. However, nobody put a ball on target during the extra play.

The Loggers next play at Whitman, March 13-14.
