TACOMA, Washington – The combination of
Radhika Webster Schultz and
Ava Cholakian led the Puget Sound women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Northwest in its season home debut in Baker Stadium Friday afternoon.
Early in the second half, Cholakian dribbled from just outside the right side of the box and whipped in a cross that only had one person's name on it, and that was Webster Shultz's. The junior put herself in position in the far post to score what stood as the game-winning goal.
Webster Schultz and Cholakian continue to terrorize opposing defenses. Webster Schultz now has three goals in as many games, and Cholakian as three assists this season.
Chaylea Tome came up with an incredible save in the 84
th minute to preserve the win and her third shutout this fall.
The Loggers had eight corner kicks to go along with eight shots on goal.
Puget Sound will be at Baker Stadium again tomorrow, Sept. 11, at 4:30 p.m. to take on No. 8 Wheaton (Ill.)
