Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Holman matches career-high for kills in a loss at Pacific

FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Jordan Holman matched her career-high for kills in a game, but the Puget Sound volleyball team lost at Pacific, 3-2 (25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14), Friday night.

Holman finished the contest with 18 kills and just two errors. She also added 17 digs, which were matched by Abby McLeran. Holman had 18 kills twice in 2019 – once against Lewis & Clark, and once against George Fox.

Logan Winn totaled 22 assists, and Sarah Blumenfeld had 21.

After losing the first set, the Loggers bounced back to win the next two. Pacific never trailed in the fourth set, but the Loggers made a push to end the match in the frame.

Trailing 21-17, a kill by Maddie Klopcic was the first of three-straight points for the Loggers. Holman added consecutive kills in the run, but the 21-20 deficit was as close as the Loggers would get in the fourth.

In the fifth set, the teams went point-for-point until an error by the Boxers gave the Loggers a 10-8 lead. A kill by Katherine Carley put the Loggers on the brink of victory, 13-10. But Pacific went on a 4-0 run to eventually win the set and the match.

Puget Sound's road stretch continues Friday, Oct. 1, at Whitworth.
