Webster Schultz delivers game-winner against Whitworth

TACOMA, Washington – Radhika Webster Schultz's fifth goal of the season led the Puget Sound women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Whitworth in Baker Stadium Saturday afternoon.

In the 66th minute, Emily O'Neil delivered a cross from the right side into the box. The Pirates' goalkeeper broke up the pass, and the ball was punched out to just beyond the 18-yard box. Webster Schultz sprinted to the loose ball and buried a 25-yard shot into the back of the net.

The game was scoreless at halftime, but Genny Jilka Maskarinec delivered the first goal off an assist by Webster Schultz.

The 1-0 lead was shot-lived, as Whitworth tied the game just one minute later.

The Loggers kept the pressure on the Pirates all game, attempting 19 shots overall – 10 of which were on goal. Whitworth put just five shots on goal in 90 minutes.

Puget Sound is back in Baker Stadium for Senior Day Sunday, Oct. 30. Kickoff against Whitman is set for 12 p.m.
