McMINNVILLE, Oregon – Emily LaRiviere scored seven goals, and
Milan Lam added four, to lead the Puget Sound lacrosse team to a season-opening win at Linfield, 17-11, Saturday afternoon.

LaRivere got the scoring started with 8:04 on the clock in the first quarter, but the Loggers and Wildcats exchanged each of the game's first four goals. LaRivere broke the 2-2 tie with a score assisted by
Lauren Mastin just before the end of the first quarter. LaRiviere opened the third quarter with her third goal of the game, putting the Loggers up 4-2.

Midway through the second quarter Puget Sound held a 7-2 lead. During the 5-0 run, each goal was scored by either LaRiviere or Lam.

The Loggers held a 9-5 lead at halftime, but they broke the game open in the third quarter by pushing their lead to 14-7.
Abby Stranahan and
Beatrice Bridge both scored twice in the third quarter.

Olivia Almy earned the win in goal by recording 10 saves.

Puget Sound makes its home debut Wednesday, March 2, against George Fox. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
