PARKLAND, Washington – The Puget Sound baseball team slugged it out at Pacific Lutheran Saturday, but the Lutes won both ends of a Northwest Conference doubleheader Saturday.

Shane Himeda's first home run of the season gave Puget Sound a 2-1 lead, but the swing accounted for the Loggers' only runs of the game.

The Loggers entered the sixth inning in a 1-0 deficit.
Kyle Strash reached base with one out when he was hit by a pitch, and two batters later Himeda launched a homer to give Puget Sound a 2-1 edge.

However, PLU rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held on to win.

Puget Sound 13, Pacific Lutheran 20
Four Loggers homered, and Puget Sound scored multiple runs in six different innings, but the Lutes scored six unearned runs en route to the win.

Jacob Ota and
Jonas Kim led off the second inning with back-to-back home runs, and
Jackson Bolitho hit a two-run jack in the fourth.

Clayton Waltz also hit a two-run home run. His first homer of the year came in the seventh inning.

Ota finished the game 3-for-5 with two RBI, and Bolitho went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.

The Loggers and Lutes finish the series Sunday, March 20, at 11 a.m.
