SPOKANE, Washington – Jessica Moore and 
Kelsie Sullivan both homered, but the Puget Sound softball team lost both ends of its Northwest Conference doubleheader at Whitworth Saturday.
 
Puget Sound 4, Whitworth 12 (6 inn.)
The Loggers trailed 3-0 after the first inning, but Moore's homer in the second inning sparked the Puget Sound bats
 
Moore hit a one-out solo home run, and 
Savanna Smith immediately followed with a single. Smith moved to third base on an error, and she came in to score on a sac fly by 
Natalie Wilson.
 
The Loggers took a 4-3 lead in the third inning. 
Hana DeGuzman hit a one-out single, and 
Mikayla Newman followed with a walk. Sullivan cleared the bases with a triple down the right-field line.
 
 
Puget Sound 5, Whitworth 14 (5 inn.)
The Pirates scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back.
 
Kendall Gantz hit an RBI double in the second inning for Puget Sound. In the third inning, 
Hana DeGuzman was hit by a pitch, and she later came in to score on a wild pitch.
 
Natalie Wilson led off the fifth inning with a double, and she came in to score on a base hit by DeGuzman. Two batters later, Sullivan homered to left field.
 
Puget Sound and Whitworth conclude their series Sunday, March 20.
