SPOKANE, Washington – Kyle Strash set two school records and surpassed his head coach on Puget Sound's all-time hit list as the Puget Sound baseball team beat Whitworth, 12-1, Saturday afternoon.

The second game of the doubleheader was suspended after 13 innings with the game tied, 10-10. The game will resume Sunday at 11 a.m., and the third game of the series will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.Â

Strash made his 146
th career start with the Loggers, and he drew a walk for the 99
th time in his time with the Maroon & White. Both of those marks are tops in the Loggers' record book.

Strash collected two hits Saturday, giving him 181 for his collegiate career. He surpassed
Jeff Halstead for No. 3 on Puget Sound's all-time hit list.

Shane Himeda hit his third home run of the season during the win Saturday, and he drove in three runs.
Dylan Joyce and
Jackson Bolitho both finished with three hits, and
Makana Murashige swiped his team-leading 11
th bag.

Davis Franklin dominated on the mound, allowing just one earned runs through eight innings. He struck out six, and surrendered only five hits and a walk.
