TACOMA, Washington – Mason Binning threw three touchdown passes, and
Henry Hernandez ran for three scores to lead the Puget Sound football team to a 48-22 win over Lewis-Clark Valley in the Loggers' 2022 home-opener.

After a scoreless tie through the game's first 15 minutes, Puget Sound erupted for 27 points in the second quarter. Hernandez scored the game's first touchdown midway through the second quarter with a seven-yard rushing touchdown.

After forcing LVC to go three-and-out, Puget Sound marched down the field again, and
Silas Washington punched in a three-yard touchdown run. The Puget Sound defense once against forced LCV into a three-and-out. The very first play of Puget Sound's ensuing possession was a 62-yard touchdown pass from Binning to
Joe Gallagher.

LVC didn't punt in its next possession – because
Alex Meadowcroft came up with an interception. With five seconds left in the half, Binning connected with
Jack Powers for a 10-yard touchdown completion.

Binning finished the game 17-for-30 for 254 yards. Washington totaled 147 rushing yards, and Hernandez added 83.

Ezekiel Sayavong had himself a day on the defensive line, recording a sack and returning an interception 19 yards.
