SALEM, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's soccer team nearly overcame a 2-0 deficit, but the Loggers lost their first game of the season, 2-1, at Willamette Saturday afternoon.
The Loggers were down by two goals through 70 minutes, but they finally broke through in the 73
rd minute.
Stuart Methner beat the Bearcats' keeper from 10 yards out, notching his second goal of the season.
Puget Sound put one more shot on goal in the 84
th minute when
Lincoln Schell targeted the lower-right corner, but the Willamette made the save.
The Loggers remain in Oregon to take on Linfield Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2:30 p.m.
