Saunders makes nine saves in 1-1 tie at Linfield

McMINNVILLE, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's soccer team earned its first point of the Northwest Conference season in a 1-1 tie at Linfield Sunday afternoon.

The Loggers went up 1-0 on an own goal in the 8th minute. Linfield made up for its miscue by scoring the equalizer in the 48th minute.

Ryan Saunders, the reigning NWC Student-Athlete of the week for defense, made nine saves for the Loggers, just one day after he made 10 saves against Willamette.

Linfield attempted 20 shots to Puget Sound's eight.

The Loggers try to get their first conference win at Whitman Saturday, Sept. 24.
