PORTLAND, Oregon – Ava Cholakian scored her seventh goal of the season, and
Chaylea Tome got her sixth shutout of 2022 when the Puget Sound women's soccer team beat Lewis & Clark, 1-0, on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Loggers and Pioneers were locked in a scoreless tie through 81 minutes, but that's when
Radhika Webster Schultz drew a foul from just outside the box. Cholakian lined up for the free kick from just barely 18-yards out, and she buried the game-winner into the right side of the goal.
Tome faced five shots, marking her third game of the season with at least five saves.
Cholakian's seven goals are a single-season career-high for the senior. She scored six goals during her freshman campaign.
Puget Sound's road stint continues at Whitworth, Oct. 1.
