TACOMA, Washington – Nine Loggers scored at least eight points as the Puget Sound men's basketball team began the new calendar year with a 98-64 win over Portland Bible in Memorial Fieldhouse Monday evening.

Taj Phillips scored 18 points for the third time this season, which is his season-high mark (vs. Whitworth, Dec. 2; vs. Montana State Northern, Nov. 19). Freshman
Jaden Turner scored 10 points off the bench by shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor.

Charlie DeBoer pulled down a team-high seven rebounds to go with his eight points, and
Grant Erickson dished out a team-leading five assists to go with his nine points.

The Loggers finished the game with a season-high 28 assists on 41 makes from the floor. As a team, Puget Sound a season-best 59.4-percent from the floor.

Mussie Teclemariam notched 10 points for his fifth consecutive game (eighth overall) with double-digit points.
