Men's soccer holds Whitman College to 2-2 tie

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – In a thrilling match, Liam Elliott's late goal secured a 2-2 tie against Whitman College on Saturday afternoon.

In the 8th minute, Marko Babiak opened the scoring for the Loggers with a well-placed shot following a cross pass from Reily Reisner. The Whitman Blues quickly responded with a goal of there own, Edwin Romero connected with Christian Gomez to finish it off in the back of the net and level out the playing field.

The Blues took the lead in the 12th minute, with Romero providing another assist, this time to Lucas McAllister, who calmly slotted the ball low into the net with a one-touch stroke.

In the 82nd minute, after two consecutive corner kicks, Graham Hall delivered the ball into the heart of the penalty box, where Elliott expertly headed it into the net to equalize.

Ryan Saunders made four crucial saves for the Loggers, while the Logger defense limited the Blues to only one shot on goal in the second half, compared to the Loggers' four attempts. The teams battled fiercely, with Whitman taking 16 shots and Puget Sound with 14, including five on target.

The Loggers are set to face off tomorrow, October 14th, in Spokane, Washington, against Whitworth University, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
