Women's soccer wraps up home season in ruthless 5-0 victory

TACOMA, Wash. – Four Logger women scored in a dominate 5-0 win against the Pacific University Boxers on Sunday afternoon in their final regular season home match at Baker Stadium.

The first half was controlled by the Loggers, senior, Ava Cholakian recorded two consecutive goals assisted by Leila Hausia-Haugen, while Zoe Fowler scored the game winner in the first two minutes. Fowler was able to score after Zoe Witter crossed the ball to the center where Cholakian was able to make a quick dish to Fowler who took it to the back of the net.

Senior, Rylee MacLennan scored her second goal of the weekend from the right side to the top of the net and over the goalies head, she was assisted by Hausia-Haugen. The Boxers went scoreless in the first half with only two shots on goal in the last six minutes.

In the second half, the Logger defense held the Boxers to only one shot on goal. The Loggers made a late goal in the 89th minute delivered by Emily O'Neil and extended the lead 5-0.

Senior, Megan Schellhase made three saves, while the Boxers goalkeeper, Isabella De La Cruz, managed eight saves.

The win came after we honored nine women's soccer seniors for their achievements with the Loggers: Mimi Carrier-Berndt, Ava Cholakian, Madeline Drye, Amelia Guasco, Sienna Kloss, Rylee MacLennan, Emma PackMisha Tasaka, and Megan Schellhase. MacLennan scored and Cholakian scored twice against the Boxers.
