REDLANDS, Calif. – Freshman Hugo Rutherford led the team with
Liam Ruttledge with 18 points each but it wasn't enough in a tough 112-82 loss to the University of Redlands Bulldogs on Friday night.
Dezman Baker scored his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. However, Bulldogs forward Jhace Boston led with an impressive 36 points and 10 rebounds.
The Loggers trailed throughout the first half as the Bulldogs steadily expanded their lead. With seven minutes remaining in the half, the Bulldogs led 40-21. The Loggers, however, tightened the gap in a series of rebounds that led to a halftime score of 48-41 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The second half was dominated by the Bulldogs again. With three minutes left in regulation the Loggers were down 73-99. Although the Loggers fought back they ultimately succumbed to a final score of 112-82.
The Loggers totaled 48 rebounds compared to the Bulldogs' 44, but the Loggers were shooting at 41.6% from the floor, while the Bulldogs were dropping a success rate of 49.4% from the floor.
Men's basketball action continues tomorrrow, Nov. 10, in Thousand Oaks, Calif., as the Loggers face Cal Lutheran in 3 p.m. matchup.
