HOLLAND, Mich. – The Puget Sound Logger women's basketball team came away 1-1 in the Hope Tip-off Tournament over the weekend, with a 76-55 win against John Carroll University on Saturday and a tight 78-77 loss to Illinois Wesleyan University on Friday.

The Loggers entered the game leading 26-11 after the first quarter.
Kennedy Brown started the scoring 15 seconds in with a 3-point shot and continued that rhythm through the quarter. The Illinois Wesleyan Titans made a comeback in the second quarter scoring 25 points to the Loggers 18
points.
The Titans led the next two quarters, and the Loggers started to lose momentum going into the fourth quarter. The Titans took the lead in the middle of the fourth quarter at 69-65 after a 15 point run. The Titans started to pull farther away at 76-69, fighting back,
Paige Gerhart dropped a three for the Loggers, and went for an 8-2 run, but the Titans toughened defense held the Loggers back.
Jordyn Reverman managed one last three-point shot before the buzzer as the Loggers fell to the Titans by just one point.
The Titans outscored the Loggers 42-33 in the second half, scoring 19 points off fast breaks. Reverman scored 18 points off the bench, while Gerhart led the scoring with 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Freshman
Autumn Hill had 12 rebounds and eight blocks.
Puget Sound 76, John Carroll University 55
In the Loggers first ever match against John Carroll University, they took a strong early lead of 17-0 to start and finished leading 31-8 in the first quarter. Nine Loggers scored with 15 points off the bench. John Carroll fought back in the second quarter outscoring the Loggers 18-14, but the Loggers were still holding a significant 19 point lead. Puget Sound made 15 turnovers in the first half compared to John Carroll's seven turnovers.
The Loggers led in the third quarter with Brown dropping nine points and
Addison Reardon scoring five and shooting for 100% accuracy. John Carroll made a hard push in the fourth quarter but could not make a comeback
Kennedy Brown led the Loggers with 18 points, while off the bench, Reardon had 13 points both shooting 3-of-5 from three-point range. The Loggers had a 43.1% total shooting percentage.
Autumn Hill had seven rebounds, three blocks and three steals, while Brown had five rebounds. Gerhart had seven points and seven assists, while Freshman
Paige Oh scored nine points and five assists for the Loggers.
The Loggers return home Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. to face Bushnell University.
