Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Loggers come out on top against #10 Trinity University

TACOMA, Wash. – The Logger women's basketball team defeat 10th-ranked Trinity University in a 76-73 win on Wednesday afternoon in Memorial Fieldhouse. 

Kennedy Brown led with 21 points going 9-for-10 from the free-throw line, points that were vital in the last minutes of the game against the Trinity Tigers. Paige Gerhart stunned with 17 rebounds, five of which were offensive adding seven points and five assists. The Loggers scored 26 points off the bench, but Addison Reardon made the greatest contribution going 5-for-8 from the 3-point line. 

Brown scored the opening shot, landing the first 3-pointer of the game, then scoring another to keep pace with the Tigers. Then the Loggers started to catch an early lead ending the first quarter up 22-15. The Loggers greatest lead was at the beginning of the second period with 27-15, holding that lead for most of the game, but the Tigers soon caught up going for a 14-point run of their own. The Tigers tied it up with less than a minute remaining in the first half. 

The second half was more tightly contested as both teams scored back and forth until the end of the third period the Loggers went on a 12-2 run that finished in a seven point lead at the end. Jordyn Reverman managed 12 points and six rebounds. The Loggers finished the game with some free-throws that secured their victory.

The women's team will be back in Memorial Fieldhouse tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m. to face Manchester University.
