TACOMA, Wash. – The women's basketball team dominates with a 15-0 start to defeat the Corban University Warriors 86-60 on Saturday afternoon in Memorial Fieldhouse. This win brings Puget Sounds record to 8-3 overall.
Paige Gerhart led the stampede pacing Corban offensively with a career-high 24 points going 8-of-11 from the floor adding seven assists and three steals.
Kennedy Brown followed with 15 points and four steals, while
Jordyn Reverman delivered 13 points and
Katie Minnehan brought down six rebounds and made four assists.
The Loggers dominated defensively forcing 35 turnovers for the Warriors and scoring off half of them. The Loggers scored 30 points from the bench and out shot the Warrior 20-5 in the first quarter. Both teams had a similar shooting percentage, but the Loggers defense was a strong match for the Warriors.
The Warriors attempted a comeback in the third quarter, scoring 26 points to the Loggers 26 points, but the Loggers defense held strong until the end.
The Loggers take a well deserved New Years break but will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Oregon to face Pacific University and Linfield University on Jan. 5 and 6.
