39 points scored off the bench in dominant 64-40 win against Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Wash. – The Logger women's basketball team took down their town-rivals the Pacific Lutheran University Lutes in a 64-40 victory on Tuesday night in Memorial Fieldhouse. 

Three Loggers scored in double digits, Paige Gerhart led the scoring with 13 points and six rebounds, while Freshman Paige Oh followed with 12 points, but Grace Pytynia-Hillier made her 10 points all in the second half. Katie Minnehan claimed 11 rebounds and three steals in the win. 

The first quarter was tightly contested with both teams hungry for the rivalry win, Paige Gerhart started a 13-6 lead early in the game with four points in consecutive plays. However, the Lutes quickly tied it back up after a few shots from Raylie Wardenaar. The Loggers saw a 10-0 run coming off the second quarter whistle that gave the Loggers a 13-point lead the Lutes could never recover from. 

The 5-foot-3-inch Oh gained momentum in the second half shooting 3-for-4 from the 3-point line totaling 12 points all game. In the second half, the Loggers continued their impressive game by shooting for 54.2%with 29 points off the bench and holding the Lutes to a 20% shooting rate. 

The Loggers continue tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. to face Multnomah University in Memorial Fieldhouse.
