FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Davis Franklin threw eight strong innings at Pacific Saturday, but the Puget Sound baseball team lost both ends of a doubleheader.

Davis Franklin threw a career-high eight innings, but the Boxers walked off in the ninth inning to win the first game Saturday.

Franklin allowed only two earned runs on four hits and struck out eight.
Â
The game was scoreless through four innings, but that all changed in the top of the fifth.
William Gross hit a one-double to left field, and
Drew Kamihara followed with an RBI double to right field. Kamihara moved to third base on a single by
Cody Hirano, and he came in to score on a ground out by
Dylan Joyce.

The three-run rally culminated with a
Makana Murashige that scored Hirano.

The Boxers quickly answered back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, and they walked off with a two-run single in the ninth.

Puget Sound 3, Pacific 12
Gabe Huante picked up his first multi-hit game of the season, but the Loggers' lost Saturday's second game, 12-3. Huante went 2-for-3 at the plate. He drove in the Loggers' first run of the game with an RBI double that scored
Cooper Allen in the seventh inning.

The Loggers added two more runs in the frame thanks to a double by
Drew Kamihara.
