Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Schilli nets season-high five goals against Carroll

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound lacrosse team kept pace in the first half, but the Loggers scored just twice in the second half as they lost to Carroll, 15-9, in Baker Stadium Tuesday afternoon. It was Puget Sound's first home game of the season.

Consecutive goals by Cat Schilli gave the Loggers a 3-2 lead through the first 15 minutes of the game. The Pioneers tied the game, 4-4, in the second quarter, but then Emily LaRiviere and Schilli scored goals in less than a two-minute span to put the Loggers back in front, 6-4.

From there, Carroll went on a 4-0 run to take an 8-6 lead. Abby Stranahan scored the final goal of the first half to bring the Loggers to within one, 8-7, at the midway point.

The Pioneers quickly reclaimed momentum by scoring the first two goals of the third quarter, and they never looked back.

Schilli scored five times for Puget Sound – a season-high for the freshman. Abby Stranahan scored twice, marking her sixth multi-goal effort in six games.

The Loggers next host Corban Saturday, March 18.
