TACOMA, Washington – Cat Schilli and
Emily LaRiviere combined for 10 goals as the Puget Sound softball team outlasted Corban, 16-14, in Baker Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Loggers had a commanding 9-3 lead late in the second half, but the Warriors scored in the final seconds of the second quarter. The late goal gave the Warriors they momentum they needed heading into the second half.

Corban scored five of the first six goals in the second half, cutting Puget Sound's lead to 10-9 midway through the third quarter.

Maya Sheklow poured some water on the Warrior's run by scoring her first goal of the game. Corban answered again to make it a one-score game, 11-10, but it was Sheklow once against who pushed the Loggers' lead to two goals, 12-10. Less than a minute later, Schilli scored her fifth goal of the game to give Puget Sound a 13-10 cushion.

The Warrior got to within a goal, 15-14, with six minutes left in regulation. But
Bailey Fuhrmann found a wide open
Kaitlin Wallace to the right of the wage, and Wallace buried the opportunity to put the Loggers ahead by two.

Corban won the ensuing draw control, but the Puget Sound defense forced the Warriors into a turnover. Sheklow corralled the ground ball and successfully cleared the threat – effectively sealing the win for Puget Sound.

Schilli scored a season-high six goals, and LaRiviere added four. LaRivere also finished with a career-high five assists.
