FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Jessica Moore totaled six hits and four doubles to lead the Puget Sound softball team to a Northwest Conference series split at Pacific, April 1-2.

Puget Sound 1, Pacific 4 (April 1)
Sam Bland and
Kendall Gantz combined to allow just three earned runs while striking out six batter in six innings, but Pacific won the first game of the series, 4-1.

Bland got the start and she went four innings before Gantz came in to pitch the final two frames. Gantz didn't allow a base runner, but the Puget Sound bats didn't take advantage of the opportunity.

The Loggers trailed, 4-0, entering the seventh inning.
Kimora Phillips hit a one-out double in the top of the seventh, and she moved up one base when
Emily Moore grounded out.
Hailee Ueyama followed by ripping an RBI single for Puget Sound's lone run of the game.

Puget Sound 9, Pacific 2 (April 1)
Jessica Moore and
Emily Moore combined for five hits, four RBI, and four runs score as the Loggers beat the Boxers, 9-2.

The game was tied, 1-1, through four innings, but the Loggers erupted for six runs in the fifth stanza.
Mikayla Newman led off the inning by getting by a pitch, and she promptly stole second game.
Sofia Gonzales put runners on the corners with a single, and the two baserunners successfully went for a double-steal that put the Loggers ahead, 2-1.

The Loggers once again put runners on the corners when
Kimora Phillips reached base with a single, and
Emily Moore drove them both home with a double.

In a common theme for the inning, Puget Sound once more had runners on first and third following a single by
Hailee Ueyama.
Jessica Moore stepped to the plate and belted a two-run double, pushing the Loggers' lead to 6-1.

Emily Moore finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. Â
Jessica Moore finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, while Phillips also scored twice with two hits to her name.
Savanna Smith totaled three RBI in the game – and she earned the win in the circle with a complete-game effort. Smith allowed just earned runs on six hits.

Puget Sound 11, Pacific 9 (9 inn.; April 2)
Four Loggers totaled three hits each as Puget Sound outlasted Pacific, 11-9, in a dramatic extra-innings victory.

The Loggers struck first in the second inning when
Kendall Gantz hit a two-run double, and
Kimora Phillips drove in a run with a double of her own. The Loggers added two more runs in the fourth inning with RBI base-hits by
Emily Moore and
Hailee Ueyama, but the Boxers got those two runs back in the bottom of the frame.

Puget Sound held a 5-2 lead entering the bottom of the seventh, but Pacific rallied for three runs – the last of which was scored with two outs – to send the game into extra innings.

The Loggers quickly shifted momentum back their way with three runs in the top of the eighth. Phillips hit a one-out single, and
Emily Moore drove her home with a double. Ueyama followed with an RBI single, and later in the inning
Savanna Smith collected an RBI hit.

However, the Boxers answered that blow by countering with three runs in the bottom of the eighth. The top of the ninth began with a single by
Kendall Gantz, and she moved into scoring position on the play on an error by the right fielders.
Sofia Gonzales hit a single to put runners on the corners, and
Emily Moore lifted a sac fly to score Gantz and give the Loggers a 9-8 lead.

Following a Ueyama single,
Jessica Moore delivered a two-run double to provided enough of a cushion to hold for the win.

Ueyama, Smith, Gantz, and Gonzales collected three hits, each.
Emily Moore totaled a team-high three RBI.

Puget Sound 2, Pacific 4 (April 2)
Undoubtedly worn out by the previous three games, Puget Sound was held to just three hits in a 4-2 loss against the Boxers.

Savanna Smith hit an RBI soingle in the fourth inning, and
Kendall Gantz drove in a run with a sac fly in the sixth. It gave Puget Sound a 2-0 edge, but the Boxers scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the stanze.

Puget Sound returns home to host Linfield for four games, April 7-8.
