TACOMA, Wash. – The University of Puget Sound men's soccer team secured a resounding victory in their first home game, defeating the Evergreen State Geoducks 2-0 on Thursday. Marko Babiak scores game-winning goal, while Pema Globus finishes it off with another in the second half.
Babiak demonstrated his agility and precision in the 9th minute, capitalizing on a long pass from Rhys Foote to outmaneuver the Geoducks' goalkeeper and find the back of the net.
In the second half, following a free kick for the Loggers, Graham Hall fakes the kick, enabling Globus to spiral the ball into the top left corner of the net closing in on a 2-0 lead.
The Geoducks struggled to generate scoring opportunities and managed only three shots-on-goal, all of which were saved by Andrew Matheny.
Puget Sound returns to Baker Stadium Saturday, Sept. 16, to host Whitman College at 2:30 p.m.
