TACOMA, Washington (October 13, 2024) - Women's Soccer (4-4-4, 4-1-3 NWC) wrapped their weekend with a game against the Whitman Blues, who were nothing but lucky to score against the Loggers. Puget Sound may as well have held possession for 70-75% of the game, the loan Whitman goal coming off of a botched corner kick clearance. The sole Logger goal came in the 85th minute, when
Kya Scott dropped a corner to the near side of the 18-yard box to
Emma Pack, who chipped a curling cross into the box, right in front of the keeper. Both
Zoe Fowler and
Emily O'Neil were there to greet the ball, but it was ultimately O'Neil who knocked it into the back of the net with just minutes to play.
The Loggers and Blues ended a 1-1 tie, but the score didn't quite reflect the tone of the game. Puget Sound had more corner kicks and shots than Whitman, and was consistently pressing -especially
Kya Scott and
Zoe Fowler up top.
The Loggers next battle the Willamette Bearcats and Linfield Wildcats on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th, respectively. Both games kick off at 2:45pm.
