TACOMA, Washington (October 23, 2024) - The Logger women (5-1-5, 5-4-6 NWC) were unable to carry the momentum from Jackson Smith's last-minute equalizer into their match. However, they held strong against Pacific Lutheran's conference-leading team (9-0-2, 10-1-4 NWC), coming out of the match with a 0-0 draw.
In all, the game was fairly even to start, with both teams only firing three shots in the first half. Puget Sound then hammered the Lutes in the second half, getting four shots on target whereas the Lutes were left with zero shots in the half.
Similar to shot count, the Lutherans lacked in physicality; The Loggers were called on eight total fouls while the the Pacific Lutheran seemed to shy away from confrontation with just one. At the end of the match,
Leila Hausia-Haugen was awarded a caution for her efforts to attack as she protected herself in a physical tackle from the PLU keeper.
The Loggers next take on Lewis & Clark (2-6-1, 4-7-2 NWC) on Saturday after the men's game. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:45pm, right here at home in Baker Stadium.
