NEWBERG, Oregon (October 4, 2024) - Senior
Mackenzie Leith has once again led the Loggers (7-6, 4-1 NWC) to another win, this time over George Fox. The Bruins sit directly behind Puget Sound in the Northwest Conference Standings, and this head-to-head result will surely be one that holds weigh come the end of the season. The Loggers started strong, winning the first set 27-25. George Fox rallied, winning the second set 21-25. Throughout the game, George Fox had a 7% lower hitting percentage than the Loggers, something that added up in the long run as the Loggers bested George Fox in both the third and fourth sets. Freshman
Maddie Badger continues to lead the Loggers in blocks per set and going into this evening's match-up was ranked #6 nationally in blocks per set. Tonight, she recorded 14 kills, the same as Leith.
The Loggers will take on The Pacific University Boxers tomorrow evening in Forest Grove. First serve is set for 6pm. Then the Loggers return home to host Whitman and Whitworth on next Friday and Saturday, respectively.
