PORTLAND, Oregon (November 19, 2024) – The Loggers (3-2) received their second loss of the season after traveling down to Portland to take on the Warner Pacific Knights (3-0).
Right off the bat the Knights were able to score 12 unanswered points. They went up on the Loggers 4-18 and eventually stretched their lead to 11-27. By the end of the first half the Loggers were able to diminish the lead to 10 points, going into halftime 25-35.
Early in the second half the Loggers were able to get within four points of the Knights, and eventually were able to take the lead 45-44. However, the Knights scored eighteen points, only separated by two baskets by the Loggers. Down 52-62, there wasn't enough time left in the game for the Loggers to recover and they fell to the Knights 59-70.
The Loggers led for more of the game than the Knights did, but worse field goal and three point percentages did the Loggers in.
Dezman Baker led the Loggers tonight with 17 points, followed by
Taj Phillips with 12 points. Baker, Phillips, and
Ian Cook each had six rebounds.
The Loggers will return home on Wednesday November 27 to take on Hamilton College. Tip-off is at 2pn.
