TACOMA, Washington (November 27, 2024) – The Loggers were unable to make up for lost ground against Hamilton College in a 68-73 decision.
Hamilton went up by five points and extended their lead to 11, leading 19-8 less than ten minutes into the game. The Loggers were able to gain traction and tie the game. Both teams scored back and forth but Hamilton was able to take the lead again. The half ended 35-40.
The second half was an even contest between the two teams with both scoring 33 points apiece. The Loggers were unable to lead, and at the worst trailed by 15 points. Again, the Loggers were able to reign in Hamilton, but to no avail. Down by one, Puget Sound forced fouls to try to get the ball back, but there wasn't enough time left in the game. While the Loggers had a better three-point percentage, at 40%, Hamilton made almost 80% of their free throws which led to their success.
Liam Ruttledge led the Loggers with 14 points, followed by
Hugo Rutherfurd and
Zane Miller with 13. Rutherfurd also led with nine rebounds.
The Loggers don't play again until Tuesday December 10th against Northwest Indian College. Tip-off is at 7pm.
