O'Neil Shines on Senior Day

TACOMA, Washington (November 3, 2024) - It was senior day at East Field today for the Logger women's soccer team, and the senior class shone brightly as Pacific University fell to Puget Sound, led by senior Emily O'Neil.

O'Neil scored both of the Logger's goals, the first from the penalty spot; the result of an errant Boxer slide against Hausia-Haugen in the 28th minute, the second assisted by Kya Scott and finding the back on the net in the 78th minute.

The Loggers held strongly the entire match, commanding the midfield and often swinging the ball across their back line to make Pacific work to get minimal touches on the ball. The Boxers only had two shots the entire game, whereas the Loggers knocked, and knocked, and knocked - finishing with a staggering 19 shots, 11 of them on target.

Seniors honored today were Emily O'Neil, Sienna Kloss, Emma Pack, Amelia Guasco, Kya Scott, Zoe Fowler, and Hannah Fufa.

The Loggers have a chance at the playoffs by way of an at-large bid, depending on their result next weekend, when they travel to Spokane to take on Whitworth and Whitman, and the results across the conference.
