Gerhart, Brown power Loggers to 75-60 win against Lewis and Clark

PORTLAND, Ore. – Paige Gerhart landed her third double-double of the season scoring a game-high 19 points going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line adding 10 rebounds in the 75-60 victory at Lewis and Clark College on Friday night in Pamplin Sports Center. Kennedy Brown went 6-for-8 from the floor scoring 15 points and making four assists in the win. 

The Loggers scored 30 points off the bench and shot for 65% in the second period. Jordyn Reverman pushed for 12 points scoring nine in the fourth period. 

One minute into play, Gerhart started the scoring with a driving layup. The Lewis and Clark Pioneers tied the Loggers twice, but never took the lead. The Loggers outscored the Pioneers 19-12 in the first period, followed by a 44-26 score at halftime. The Loggers scored 20 points in the paint with a halftime shooting percentage of 51.6%, while the Pioneers only shot for 33.3%.

The Loggers reached their biggest lead of 19 points in the third period after a made free-throw from Brown. The Pioneers chipped away at the Loggers, going for a seven-point run bookended by free-throws from the Pioneers Charlotte Carroll at 4:09 left in the third period, but the Pioneers could never break a double-digit deficit.

The Pioneers had 23 turnovers and four steals while the Loggers had 11 turnovers and 13 steals. 

The Loggers will head to Willamette University on Saturday, February 10 to play at 6 p.m.
