TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's basketball team showed its versatility in a hard-fought victory over Linfield on Friday night. Known for their high-scoring offense, the Loggers relied on a fundamentally sound defensive effort to secure the 64-57 win in a gritty conference matchup.
Linfield entered the game as the second-highest scoring team in the Northwest Conference, averaging 67.8 points per game. Despite averaging 86 points in their two previous conference victories, the Loggers found a different way to prevail, turning the contest into a defensive slugfest.

Mele Sake led the Loggers in scoring through much of the fourth quarter, tying her season-high with 12 points. With two minutes remaining, Addison Reardon extended the lead to 62-49 with a three-pointer, and Sake added another basket, finishing with a season-best 14 points.
