PORTLAND, Oregon (January 18, 2025) – The Loggers (6-9, 1-5 NWC) couldn't overcome an early lead by Lewis & Clark (8-7, 4-2 NWC) and fell to the Pioneers, 69-58.
Lewis & Clark opened the game with a 12-0 run, putting the Loggers in a 12-3 hole. The rest of the first half was evenly contested, but the Loggers couldn't trim the deficit. The Pioneers led 31-24 at the break.
In the second half, the Pioneers pushed ahead by 10 points. The Loggers were able to cut the margin in half with 12 minutes remaining, but the Pioneers gained momentum again, this time extending their lead to 16. Despite taking 11 more shots from the paint and six more from beyond the arc than the Pios, the Loggers couldn't convert, which proved to be their downfall tonight.
Ian Cook posted his fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds. He was followed by
Will Pohland with 10 points and seven rebounds and
Zane Miller with eight points and four rebounds.
The Loggers will head back to Oregon next weekend for games against George Fox and Willamette. The team plays Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
