TACOMA, Wash. -- The Loggers continue their hot streak in conference play, expanding their win streak to six with a win over Pacific.
How it Happened
The first set was all Loggers, as their starting rotation put on a hitting clinic.
Maddie Badger,
Makela Pick, and
Erin Fagan all got a kill in an early 6-2 run. Badger continued her hot hand, smashing two more kills to extend the lead to seven, forcing a Pacific timeout. After a
Lauren Ly ace and three kills by
Mackenzie Leith, the Loggers found themselves out to a 16-6 lead. They continued to go on a run with some impressive defense, finishing with eight of the last nine points to secure a 25-9 first set win.Â
Pacific learned from some of their set one errors, and started off the second set with a 3-1 lead. The Loggers evened up the score, and it was back and forth from then on out. After finding themselves down 8-10, the Loggers got on a little roll. Fagan and Pick each had a couple kills, as a 6-2 run propelled the loggers to a four point lead. The Boxers pulled it within one, but Puget Sound went on a nice 5-2 run to polish it off, securing a 25-21 second set victory.Â
The third set showed how deep the roster is, as the Loggers plugged new pieces into the game. It played off early, as A kill by
Akira Anderson and a couple of errors led to a quick 4-1 start to the set.
Mia Fedota kept it rolling with a kill, and another Kill by Anderson made it 12-9.
Mia Fedota and
Jordan Warner also got into the mix, picking up a couple kills to extend the lead to six. The set ended on a nice 4-0 run, as the Loggers won the third set, 25-19.Â
