TACOMA, Washington (March 11, 2025). – Despite a determined effort, the Puget Sound women's lacrosse team fell to Occidental, 21-5, in a tough home contest.
The Loggers, playing without any available substitutes, faced an Occidental squad that used its depth to maintain a high tempo and keep fresh legs on the field. The Tigers outshot UPS 40-11, applying constant pressure throughout all four quarters.
Cat Schilli led the offensive charge for Puget Sound, scoring two goals and collecting five draw controls.
Amity Humphrey and
Maggie Ott also found the back of the net, with Ott adding an assist to her stat line. On the defensive end,
Kylie Sullivan was a force, causing three turnovers and picking up two ground balls.
Goalkeeper
Phoebe Crowther had a strong showing in net, recording 12 saves against Occidental's relentless attack. The Loggers also secured 11 draw controls and completed 9 successful clears.
The Loggers play again Thursday March 13 against the visiting Sewanee Tigers. The game is at 4 p.m. on Peyton Field.
